Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 27, 2026
Last Updated: October 27, 2026
Lamp Light ("Lamp Light," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how information may be disclosed, and the choices you have when you use the Lamp Light website and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Lamp Light includes browser-based reading tools and Lamp Light Pro cloud features. When you use a Pro feature, documents and derived files are uploaded to an encrypted private workspace so that we can translate, narrate, fill, sign, export, retrieve, and delete them at your direction.
By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We seek to minimize the personal information we collect.
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Lamp Light may receive information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as when you:
- Contact us by email;
- Submit a support request, feedback, or other communication;
- Participate in a survey, promotion, or other activity that specifically requests information; or
- Otherwise communicate with us.
Depending on the circumstances, this information may include your name, email address, the contents of your communication, and any other information you choose to provide.
You do not need to create an account to use the core Lamp Light document-reading functionality.
1.2 Account Creation and Payment Information
Creating a Lamp Light account is optional and is only needed if you want your reading history and current document saved and synced across devices.
If you choose to create an account, you will be directed to a checkout process hosted by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). Stripe collects your payment card details directly. Lamp Light does not receive or store your full card number, card verification code, or bank account details.
In connection with a paid account, Lamp Light receives:
- The email address you provide at checkout;
- Confirmation from Stripe that payment was completed; and
- A Stripe-generated transaction identifier used to verify payment before your account is created.
See Section 5 below for more information about Stripe. After payment is confirmed, you choose a password to finish creating your account. Account credentials are managed using Amazon Cognito, part of Amazon Web Services.
1.3 Documents and Files You Use With Lamp Light
Lamp Light allows you to select PDF documents from your device and to capture or upload images of documents.
When you use Lamp Light Pro:
- PDF files, scans, translated-reader data, translated exports, signed copies, and minimum signing audit records may be stored in an encrypted Lamp Light Pro workspace hosted on Amazon Web Services.
- We process uploaded content to extract text, perform OCR where needed, translate it, synthesize narration, create exports, and provide form and self-sign functions.
- For requested translation, Lamp Light sends extracted document text to Amazon Translate through AWS. Original PDFs remain in the private processing workspace. The prepared signup example is static and makes no translation-service request. If Lamp Light changes translation providers, the applicable provider disclosure will be updated before customer content is sent to that provider.
- Some scan enhancement, reader display, browser voices, and optional Kokoro speech processing may still occur locally in your browser.
Lamp Light does not use the contents of your documents to build advertising profiles, sell information to data brokers, or train a Lamp Light artificial intelligence model.
Important: You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload, scan, process, or otherwise use any document through the Service. You should exercise caution before processing documents containing highly sensitive information.
1.4 Camera and Microphone Information
Some Lamp Light features allow you to scan documents using your device's camera.
When you choose to use the scanning feature, your browser may request permission to access your camera. Lamp Light uses the camera solely to capture document images for the scanning functionality.
The current Service requests video camera access without audio access. Camera access is initiated only when you choose to use the scanning feature.
Camera images captured through Lamp Light are processed locally in the browser and are not intentionally uploaded to Lamp Light for storage.
You may revoke camera permission through your browser or device settings at any time.
1.5 Automatically Collected Technical Information
Like most websites, Lamp Light and the third-party infrastructure used to deliver portions of the Service may receive certain technical information automatically when you access the website.
This may include, depending on your browser, device, network, hosting configuration, and third-party resource providers:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address;
- Browser type and version;
- Operating system;
- Device type;
- Date and time of access;
- Referring webpage or URL;
- Requested resources;
- Approximate geographic information derived from an IP address;
- Error and diagnostic information; and
- Other standard server or network log information.
This information may be collected automatically by web hosting providers, content-delivery networks, security providers, or third-party resources used by the Service.
Lamp Light does not currently use this technical information to create individual advertising profiles.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and provide the Service;
- Respond to communications and support requests;
- Diagnose errors, outages, and technical problems;
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service;
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, attacks, or unauthorized activity;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Enforce our agreements and protect our rights; and
- Improve the Service.
We will not use the contents of documents processed through Lamp Light for unrelated purposes unless you separately authorize such use or we are required to do so by law.
3. Local and Cloud Processing
Lamp Light uses both local, browser-based processing and encrypted cloud processing for Lamp Light Pro.
Where supported by your browser and the current implementation, processing such as:
- PDF text extraction;
- Document image processing;
- Perspective correction;
- Image enhancement;
- OCR;
- Text-to-speech generation; and
- Temporary audio generation
may take place on your device rather than on Lamp Light's servers. Pro processing, storage, translation, and completed-document retrieval take place through our cloud services as described above.
Temporary files, object URLs, browser memory, and similar technical resources may be created during processing. These are used to provide the requested functionality and are ordinarily discarded when no longer needed or when the relevant browser session or page is closed.
However, local processing does not mean that absolutely no information leaves your device. Your browser must still communicate with external services to load certain libraries, fonts, scripts, and other resources used by the website. See Section 5 below.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Lamp Light uses a limited set of cookies for analytics purposes, as described in Section 6 ("First-Party Usage Analytics") below. These cookies let Lamp Light distinguish between visitors and measure usage of the Service over time.
Lamp Light does not use cookies for behavioral advertising and does not use advertising cookies to build cross-site profiles of your activity.
Cookies, local storage, cache storage, or other browser technologies may also be used by the website, its hosting environment, or other third-party services for purposes such as authentication, security, functionality, performance, or preferences.
If our use of these technologies materially changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where legally required, provide any additional notices or choices required by applicable law.
5. Third-Party Services and Resources
Lamp Light relies on certain third-party services and publicly distributed software libraries to provide portions of the Service.
These services may receive technical information associated with your browser's request, such as your IP address, browser information, requested resource, and connection metadata.
The current version of Lamp Light may load resources from or interact with services including:
Bundled Software and Fonts
The open-source libraries Lamp Light uses in your browser (including PDF.js, jsPDF, pdf-lib, Tesseract.js, and Kokoro-related software) and its fonts (IBM Plex Sans and Source Serif 4) are served from Lamp Light's own servers. Loading them does not send requests to third-party content delivery networks or font providers.
Stripe
If you choose to create a paid Lamp Light account, checkout is processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). Stripe collects payment card details, billing information, your email address, and device or browser information directly from you for purposes including payment processing, fraud prevention, and compliance with financial regulations.
Stripe acts as an independent controller of the information you provide directly to it, and also processes limited information (such as confirming that a specific transaction was completed) on our behalf. Stripe is a PCI-certified payment processor. Stripe's own privacy practices are described in Stripe's Privacy Policy.
NVIDIA Riva
When you request document translation, Lamp Light sends the text to be translated and, when needed to perform the selected service, document content to an NVIDIA Riva Translate 4B Instruct v2 deployment. This is a processor used to provide the translation you requested; it is not used by Lamp Light to train an artificial intelligence model. Do not submit documents if you lack authority to share them with this processor.
Hugging Face
The optional Kokoro voice engine uses the publicly hosted Kokoro model identified as the onnx-community/Kokoro-82M-v1.0-ONNX model. The model is downloaded to the user's device and used locally by the browser.
Lamp Light does not intentionally send your document files to Hugging Face for cloud-based speech processing as part of the current implementation.
Each third-party provider may have its own privacy practices and policies. Lamp Light is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that operate independently from us.
6. First-Party Usage Analytics
First-Party Usage Analytics
If you accept analytics in our cookie banner, Lamp Light records how its features are used — for example, how long read-aloud playback runs, whether documents are opened by upload or camera scan, which features and voices are used, and how far visitors get through signup. These events are stored by Lamp Light and retained for up to 13 months.
These analytics never include the contents or names of your documents, your email address, your account identifier, or your IP address. A random identifier kept only for the current browser tab links events from the same visit. If you reject analytics, the website does not send these events. You can change your choice at any time through "Cookies" or "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
Separately, and regardless of that choice, our servers record limited service events needed to operate the business, such as that a checkout was started or expired, a subscription started or ended, a document was saved, or a translation was requested. These records contain no document content or contact details.
Lamp Light does not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose information in limited circumstances, including:
Service Providers
We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate, secure, host, maintain, or improve the Service. These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide services to us.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if we reasonably believe that disclosure is required to:
- Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena, or court order;
- Respond to a lawful request from a governmental authority;
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Lamp Light, our users, or others;
- Investigate fraud, security incidents, or illegal activity; or
- Enforce our agreements or legal rights.
Business Transfers
If Lamp Light is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
8. Data Retention
Lamp Light follows a data-minimization approach.
Documents
Lamp Light Pro documents, translations, and completed PDFs remain in the private workspace until you delete them or close your account, subject to limited retention of signing audit information, billing records, backups, and records we must retain by law. When you delete a document, we delete the original and derived files from the active workspace; a minimum signing audit record may remain where necessary to evidence the completed signature event.
Temporary document data may remain in your browser's memory, cache, or temporary browser resources for as long as necessary to provide the requested functionality.
Communications
If you contact Lamp Light, we may retain the contents of your communication and associated contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, provide support, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
Payment and Account Records
If you create an account, Stripe retains transaction and payment records in accordance with its own policies and applicable financial recordkeeping laws, generally independent of Lamp Light. Lamp Light retains the email address associated with your account and limited account metadata for as long as your account remains active, plus any additional period reasonably necessary for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes.
Technical Logs
Hosting providers, security providers, CDNs, and other infrastructure providers may retain technical logs for periods determined by their own policies, operational requirements, and legal obligations.
We seek to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.
9. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Lamp Light Pro documents are transmitted to and stored in our encrypted AWS cloud workspace; extracted text is sent to Amazon Translate for requested translations. Offering the service in Europe, Mexico or South America does not imply data is hosted in that region. The production hosting region and applicable international-transfer arrangements must be disclosed in the completed release policy. We use authorization controls and short-lived access URLs to protect access, but no website, Internet transmission, computer system, or storage technology can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
However, no website, Internet transmission, computer system, or storage technology can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own device, browser, operating system, and network.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning your personal information.
These rights may include the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you;
- Access personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Request deletion of personal information;
- Obtain information about categories of information collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures;
- Opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information;
- Opt out of targeted advertising;
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
- Receive information in a portable format; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.
The availability and scope of these rights depends on applicable law and may be subject to legal exceptions.
California Residents
If you are a California resident and the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), applies to Lamp Light, you may have rights including the right to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information, as well as rights relating to sensitive personal information and nondiscrimination.
Lamp Light does not sell personal information and does not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in the "Contact Us" section below.
We will verify requests as reasonably necessary and as permitted or required by applicable law.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights granted by applicable law.
Global Privacy Control and Similar Signals
Where required by applicable law, we will process recognized universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control ("GPC"), in accordance with the requirements applicable to our business.
Because Lamp Light does not currently sell personal information or engage in targeted advertising, there may be little or no effect from such an opt-out signal under the current Service configuration.
11. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Other Jurisdictions
Lamp Light is based in the United States and welcomes users from around the world. If you are located in the European Economic Area ("EEA"), United Kingdom ("UK"), Switzerland, or another jurisdiction providing similar privacy rights, this section applies to you in addition to the rest of this Privacy Policy.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction providing similar privacy rights, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information.
These may include rights to:
- Access your personal information;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion;
- Restrict processing;
- Object to certain processing;
- Receive your information in a portable format; and
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Where applicable, we may rely on legal bases such as:
- Performance of a contract or provision of a requested service;
- Compliance with legal obligations;
- Legitimate interests, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; or
- Consent, where required.
Because Lamp Light's core document-processing functionality is primarily browser-based, many document contents are not transmitted to Lamp Light in the first place.
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Children's Privacy
Lamp Light is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are under 13, please do not provide personal information to Lamp Light.
If we learn that we have knowingly collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information to us may contact us using the information below.
13. Sensitive Information and Documents
Lamp Light is a general-purpose document reading and scanning tool. You may choose to process documents containing highly sensitive information, including financial, educational, employment, legal, medical, identity, or other confidential information.
Although the current implementation is designed around local browser processing, Lamp Light does not guarantee that a document is appropriate for processing through the Service.
You should evaluate the sensitivity of a document before using the Service and should not use Lamp Light to process information when doing so would violate a law, regulation, contractual obligation, confidentiality agreement, or other legal restriction.
14. Do Not Track
Some browsers provide a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal.
Lamp Light does not currently engage in behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking that is based on a user's browsing activity. Accordingly, there is currently no separate behavioral advertising profile from which a DNT signal would require us to opt you out.
We may update this section if our tracking practices change.
15. Third-Party Websites
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, repositories, documentation, or resources.
Those third parties operate independently from Lamp Light and may have their own privacy policies and practices.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing them with personal information.
16. International Data Transfers
Lamp Light is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, information about you — including the technical information described in Section 1.5 and information handled by Stripe or other service providers described in Section 5 — will likely be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your home jurisdiction.
Where required by applicable law (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR), Lamp Light and its service providers will take reasonable steps to ensure that such international transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, which may include:
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
- The UK International Data Transfer Addendum or another approved UK transfer mechanism;
- A service provider's self-certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to that Framework, or the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable; or
- Another lawful transfer mechanism recognized by applicable law.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
- The Service;
- Our data practices;
- Third-party providers;
- Applicable laws or regulations; or
- Security and operational practices.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
If we make a material change to the way we collect, use, or disclose personal information, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
18. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise an applicable privacy right, or have a concern about how information is handled, please contact us at:
Lamp Light Email: [email protected] Website: https://lamp-light.app
For privacy-rights requests, please include enough information for us to understand and respond to your request. We may request reasonable information necessary to verify your identity where required or permitted by law.
19. Additional Notices
This Privacy Policy describes Lamp Light's privacy practices as of the effective date above.
This Privacy Policy does not create contractual rights for users beyond those required by applicable law.
Where a provision of this Privacy Policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the applicable law will control.

Internal aggregate operations reporting
When configured by the operator, a private dashboard called Jarvis receives aggregate product activity, service status, sanitized failure counts, and financial totals for internal operations. Exported records do not include customer names, contact details, document text, call recordings, message content, league identifiers, or generated report bodies. Existing analytics consent choices continue to apply.
Model accounting records provider, model, token counts when available, elapsed time, outcome, and estimated cost without prompts or responses. Detailed dashboard snapshots and sanitized events are retained for 30 days; daily aggregate history is retained for 13 months. The latest observation is retained while a connector is offline. Access is restricted to the owner. Where cloud hosting is enabled, these aggregates and encrypted backups are processed by AWS.
The owner can optionally discuss these aggregates with an OpenAI voice assistant. That assistant receives retrieved aggregates and the owner's conversation, and has no project-changing tools. Jarvis does not record raw audio or persist conversation transcripts unless the owner explicitly saves them. OpenAI processes voice, text, and tool results under its own data controls, including applicable abuse-monitoring retention; this is separate from Jarvis storage. Please avoid including customer content in an owner conversation.
Reporting update: September 16, 2026. Existing contact and rights-request procedures in this policy continue to apply.
